Our mission is to help communities of faith flourish in their interactions with their neighbourhood. A community of faith might be an established church, a church plant, a missional community, a Christian school, or a Christian childcare.

The mission of mainly Ministries is Together, creating joy-filled communities of belonging where Jesus can be revealed.

Together

A team from your community of faith will be well-resourced through the solution you select and will become confident in showing how relevant faith is to life. The collective knowledge, combined resources, easy to work with financial structure, and a common brands have given strength to communities of faith reaching out into their neighbourhoods. These solutions are sure fire, easy to run, and proven ways to connect authentically.

Creating joy-filled communities of belonging

Today, neighbourhoods desire connection. Social inclusion decreases anxiety, adds to the positivity of parents and others who care for and nurture children.

Families crave engagement. Moments when they can get out of the house and engage in something that is fun for both adult and child. Places where they find enjoyment in each other’s company. Time spent with other families who get what life is all about with it’s busy-ness and pressures

Where Jesus can be revealed

This is the ultimate (not ulterior) motivation. This is where volunteers and paid staff from the local community of faith show how it looks to live as a follower of Jesus. This is where holistic care can be provided. Vulnerability and authenticity are key to great community engagement. The solutions offered encourage and facilitate local connection.

What is provided by mainly Ministries has been used by churches and other communities of faith for more than three decades. With a clear purpose and motivation, along with exceptional support and resources, we know they work.

The motivation of mainly Ministries comes from Ephesians 5:1-2 Watch what God does, and then you do it, like children who learn proper behaviour from their parents. Mostly what God does is love you. Keep company with him and learn a life of love. Observe how Christ loved us. His love was not cautious but extravagant. He didn’t love in order to get something from us but to give everything of himself to us. Love like that.

  • Two stories of kingdom thinking

    Five communities of faith work co-operatively, running a mainly music group. The Team Leader reports it is a joy to gather with other Christian friends from different towns and congregations and work together to reveal Jesus in their region.

    Berris used to serve in her church’s mainly music group, but it closed during 2020. She felt that God had called her to serve families through volunteering in mainly music. Berris approached another church and asked to join their team. Once her husband retired, he took on the tech role. Now, they serve together.

  • The joy of giving

    The annual church working bee, sometimes a headache for the organisers, but this time an occasion of joy. Mel found an old working washing machine in a shed on the church property. She recalled a conversation she'd had with Selena, a single mother who attended sessions, who worked hard to support her family. Selena’s appliances seemed to be all packing up at once. Mel and Grace, a friend, took the washing machine to the family’s home. They discovered the dryer hose was broken and not venting properly. After arranging for a new dryer hose, a builder was engaged to come and vent the machine properly, at no cost. Selena was overwhelmed by the church's generosity.

  • An example of Together

    Our group has doubled in size in the past year – families attend from our neighbourhood. Our team is amazing and have a real passion to reveal Jesus authentically. This, combined with great social events for the whole family every term has been a wonderful way to build relationships between our church and our neighbourhood. We’re so grateful our pastors are fully involved, attending sessions and social events, because they recognise that mainly music is a place where authentic connection takes place and families flourish as a result.
